teamWith a nine year record of success, the Battle of the Border Softball Showcase Games proudly announces the 10th Annual Battle of the Border Softball Showcase on June 16 & 17.  New this year, we have joined forces with Ultimate Performance Sports Softball to bring more power and instruction to the event.    The Battle of the Border Softball Showcase was founded in 2009 to provide  softball players the opportunity to showcase their skills in the Greater Charlotte region.  The annual individual player event has been an outstanding success to date with an alumni list filled with over 200  successful NCAA student-athletes.

The 10th Annual Greater Charlotte Youth Softball Games will be held Tuesday July 16th and Wednesday July 17th at Providence High School. On Tuesday, rising 6th, 7th and 8th  grade players will compete in games and skill competitions in addition to participating in a clinic with professional softball instructors.  On Wednesday, rising 9th, 10th, 11th  and 12th grade players will take the field under the same format.  three teammatesEach player will compete in two games and in various skill contests as well as work with professional softball instructors and college softball players.

“I am very excited to offer the event for the tenth year.  The showcase has always been one of my favorite events of the season and it’s a real pleasure to watch the athletic ability of all the softball players.,” said event organizer Tripp Roakes of the South Charlotte Sports Report.  “It made perfect sense to bring Ultimate Performance Sports into the event.  They have built one of the nicest training centers in the country and have provided such outstanding support to the softball community in just two shorts years of operation.  Having their knowledge base and dedication to softball, will only allow us to take the event to a new level and provide high quality for the softball players in the community.”

“The event combines a very competitive format that allows the girls to test their skills with an element of fun by being able to play with and against players from their own school and travel teams.  The one comment I hear year after year from the girls is “this is our favorite event of the year.”

Enrollment is now open at:

Cost to participate is only $79.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this an event for my team?
The Battle of the Border Showcase is an individual player event.  Each player is assigned to a team for the games.  We will keep you together with other teammates from your regular teams, but you will also play with athletes from other teams, allowing you to develop new friendships and play with others girls you regularly compete with.   We do encourage you to share your invitation with other current teammates so they can join in as well.

Describe the format of the day?
After reporting for the event, (3:30pm estimated time) players will receive their jersey and team assignment.  We will go through a dynamic workout and then a skills clinic with our instructors where players move station to station.   Following the instruction, we will  move into the skills contests (Roadrunner & Golden Arm).  The Following the competitions players will participate in a Q and A session with college players from the area.  This is a great opportunity to learn about how to prepare for possible college play and how those players worked to be the best they could be during high school.     The players will then divide into teams and the action starts with games between teams.
